We are female led Interior design studio. Elisa and Patricia started Checa Woid in the midst of Covid and have mastered a necessity turned into a virtue - we work digitally and predominantly virtually with highly talented and experienced hotel designers in whatever locations they may have decided to live.
We are a multi-lingual and international team – fun and ambitious and with the heart on the right spot. We love the attention to details – because this is what in the end matters. The devil as well as the beauty lies in the detail.

Our wonderful team in Checa Woid takes your projects and visions very seriously and create experiences that stay for a long time with the guests.
Because it is theatre and drama, it's storytelling, business and conferences, leisure, and unwinding. It’s a world of fancy Restaurants and cool bars, it is private retreats and also loud and public, exciting spaces. Remote or urban. It can be so many things and it never gets boring. It combines residential, retail, office space, Wellness – all under one roof of hospitality. The big wide beautiful world is simply inconceivable without hotels. And this is a world that never stops evolving and that we through and through understand and love.

My extensive technical know-how is based on over 20 years of experience in the world of international hospitality interior design.
Studied and worked in Germany, Spain and the UAE, I have dedicated my professional career to the design of upper upscale and luxury hospitality projects throughout the EMEA.
As Head of interior design of Marriott International / Global Design Europe I built and led a team of interior designers, looking after the operator’s hotel portfolio throughout Europe.
With an extensive network and expertise in the international hotel industry my work has been characterized by the interface function between owners, specialist planners and various operational entities, always seeking for the sweet spot of functional perfection, memorable design language and brand vision.
During my career I have been supporting both as Interior Design Consultant as well as on operator’s side a large number of hotels in over 25 countries and worked on over 20 brands.

Who am I and what drives me
I am a globetrotter and explorer, lover of good food, loving the unusual.
The sea, the mountains and my Bavarian lakes are balm for my soul.
Very rooted in my homeland, and at the same time living with constant wanderlust.
Terribly curious about things I don't know. Cultures, countries, foreign food. I must keep my mind awake and alive by constantly feeding it with new impressions and inspirations.
Mainstream is not mine. I'm a collector of beautiful things and ideas and that's how I approach the projects I am working on.

I graduated with a Master’s in architecture from the ETSAM in Madrid in 1998, which provided me with a blend of technical skills and artistic sensibility.
With a career spanning over two decades, I have held pivotal roles in multiple sectors and roles, from Design Director at Rockwell Group, leading the design of international Hospitality and Residential projects, to Design Coordinator at the international retail developer the Mills Corporation to Freelance architect for small sustainable boutique projects.
My commitment to sustainable design is further underscored by my LEED AP Certificate.
I’m deeply passionate about education and knowledge sharing. As a professor of Interior Design at Madrid Polytechnic University and UE Madrid, I actively mentor and try to inspire the next generation of designers.

My love for travel is matched only by my enthusiasm for running and sketching. Whether running bustling city streets or capturing the essence of scenic landscapes in my sketches, I find a sense of belonging and connection with each new destination.
